The company Zapadoslovenska Energetika has not specified the date for resuming the operation of the steam gas power plant.
The company Zapadoslovenska Energetika (ZSE), in which the state has a 51-percent share, acquired the steam gas power plant Malzenice from the German company E.ON. „After an agreement and consultations with both our shareholders, the company ZSE acquired a 100-percent share in the company which operates the steam gas power plant Malzenice. The analysis of technical, legal and financial aspects was carried out prior to this decision. The acquisition was carried out based on the strategic importance of the steam gas power plant for the Slovak grid,“ a spokeswoman for ZSE Michaela Dobosova informed the portal vEnergetike.sk.
The state calculates with the steam gas power plant in all its energy strategies. The trial operation was carried out in May and June 2018 as part of the analysis. It proved that the source is well-prepared for the full operation, added Dobosova. She has not specified when the power plant close to Trnava could be put into operation. „The trial operation was conducted under the supervision of renowned European companies which proved that the production facility is well-prepared for the full operation. Currently, it is too early to say the precise date,“ Dobosova added.
