Following the Cabinet’s session, Prime Minister Robert Fico repeatedly warned Italians not to leave Slovakia without completing the third and fourth units at Mochovce NPP.
The sale of a 66-percent stake in the power utility Slovenske Elektrarne is still knotty. While the Italian company Enel, which wants to sell its majority stake in Slovenske Elektrarne, claims that it intends to finish the sale by the end of the year, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico reiterates the obligation of the Italian investor to complete the third and fourth units at Mochovce NPP. The completion of units is scheduled for the end of the year 2016, respectively in 2017.
„We have said that we disagree with the sale before the third and fourth units at Mochovce NPP are completed. I would not like to see Italians to wash their hands like Pontius Pilate and walk away and let it be. They must take full responsibility for the completion of nuclear units,“ Fico said at the press conference after Cabinet’s session on Wednesday.
