The economy ministry will submit the amendment to the Act on Support for Renewable Energy Sources and High-efficient Cogeneration next year.
The steps that the economy ministry will take to change the support scheme for the renewable energy sources are to be announced at the end of the year. Today, all electricity consumers chip in for the green energy via a so-called tariff for the operation of the system via their electricity bills. However, the ministry plans to find the way to change this scheme and thus reduce electricity prices for Slovak consumers. The new support scheme could be introduced in 2018 due to complexity of this matter. “We wanted to submit the amendment to the Act on Support for Renewable Energy Sources and High-efficient Cogeneration for the cabinet’s session in the third quarter 2017. During the preparations, however, further motions for the possible solutions appeared. The investigation and negotiations on these motions required the postponement of the amendment’s review,“ a spokesman for economy minister Paros Stano informed the portal vEnergetike.sk. The ministry does not want yet to reveal the support scheme, respectively the new tariff for the operation of the system.
