Prime Minister Robert Fico will visit Italy to talk about the sale of the power utility Slovenske Elektrarne. The Cabinet’s Office did not specify the date of Prime Minister’s visit at Enel’s headquarters.
The sale of a 66-percent stake in Slovenske Elektrarne is wrapped in the veil of mystery, both by Italians and the Slovak government. Italian company Enel, which put its stake in the Slovak electricity producer up for sale, declined to comment on the binding offers it had received. The Slovak government refused to provide further information on how it will advance in the the sale of Slovenske Elektrarne. „Affected parties are negotiating about the issue comprehensively and are setting individual parameters within the process, „Cabinet’s Office informed the portal vEnergetike.sk. The Cabinet’s Office, for example, refused to specify for now whether the government will be interested in acquiring only a 17-percent stake, lifting the state’s stake to 51 %, or the entire 66-percent stake.
