The company Vodohospodarska Vystavba was supposed to announce a tender for the Gabcikovo hydropower plant overhaul in summer. It has not eventually been announced due to a possible crime during the operation of the power plant in the past.
The international tender for a supplier of general overhaul has not yet been announced despite state representatives’ statements to announce it already in summer. Vodohospodarska Vystavba states that the audit will be announced soon. A spokeswoman for Vodohospodarska Vystavba, Diana Migalova Baschierova, informed the portal vEnergetike.sk that a crime committed over the past years could cause a moderate delay. „The technical tender was carried out prior to the tender announcement which showed that Slovenske Elektrarne might have committed a crime which concerned the violation of the duty when administering someone else’s property; the hydropower plant Gabcikovo. This fact hinders the entire process,“ said Migalova Baschierova adding that the international tender for the general overhaul of the hydropower plant Gabcikovo would have already been announced if this situation had not occurred. Vodohospodarska Vystavba states that it does everything to announce the tender within a month.
