The economy ministry plans to lay down the status of a sole purchaser of green electricity in the amendment to the Act on Renewables since 2019.
The economy ministry intends to introduce the centralized purchase of electricity generated by the renewable sources via the only purchaser. Three distribution companies currently purchase green energy. “Only one purchaser is to be on the market since 2019. It will bring more order and simpler administration,“ said Economy Minister Peter Ziga at the press conference on Thursday. The status of the sole purchaser of green electricity will be stipulated in the amendment to the Act on Renewables.
