BRATISLAVA, August 3, (WEBNOVINY) – President Ivan Gasparovic met with Speaker of Parliament Richard Sulik after Prime Minister Iveta Radicova presented the government’s program statement in parliament. Gasparovic and Sulik talked about the six priorities of the government that were presented to the plenum. „I was personally most interested in the part, which she described as a reform of education and science. We also discussed issues relating to the health care,“ Gasparovic said. The president added that he has no objection to the draft government’s program statement and will only have objections if the government fails to fulfill the statement.
Stability of the government is a matter of the coalition, the head of the state opines. He said he is informed about the fact that the association Ordinary People will not abandon the SaS deputy faction on the basis of an agreement with the SaS. „But this also means that there is an agreement that they will support the government in any law. Or if the SaS wants to send Ordinary people away from the faction, it means that their obligation does not have to be fulfilled,“ the president said. With regard to the stability of the new government, he stated that people are „tough inspectors, and time is inexorable,“ but he believes that when something new starts it will be fulfilled. „This is really the responsibility of all those who made this program,“ Gasparovic said.
