After completing Mochovce NPP, the Slovak Republic may once again become the sole shareholder of Slovenske Elektrarne.
The state may eventually acquire entire 66-percent stake in Slovenske Elektrarne (SE) sold to the Italian company nearly a decade ago. Economy Minister Vazil Hudak informed on Monday that thanks to the memorandum signed with Enel last week, the state had received an option to purchase a 17-percent stake in Slovak dominant electricity producer and the pre-emption right for the acquisition of the entire company. „We have managed to restore the pre-emption right which was valid for five years after Enel’s entry into Slovenske Elektrarne,“ said Hudak. Economy Minister also announced that the state would strengthen its position in the company under this memorandum. The state, which currently holds a 34-percent stake in SE, is expected to have a greater presence in the key bodies responsible for the completion of the third and fourth nuclear block in Mochovce.
