Electricity generation stood over 28 TWh in Slovakia last year, while its consumption reached over 31 TWh.
A new record in electricity consumption was registered in Slovakia last year. Last year’s electricity consumption was higher than over the entire period of consumption measuring, e.g. since 1983. The data published by SEPS showed that electricity consumption reached over 31 TWh in 2017, exceeding 30 TWh-level recorded in 2016. Electricity imports to Slovakia were once again high last year. Slovakia had to import roughly 3 TWh of electricity since the local energy sources generated only a little over 28 TWh of electricity.
