Large industrial customers who will be signing new contracts with suppliers must also expect an increase of the price of this commodity.

The largest energy suppliers estimate that electricity prices for Slovak households will increase. While according to the company Vychodoslovenska Energetika, electricity prices for households will increase by about 10%, ZSE Energia estimates the growth at 7% to 9%.

„What the final price for electricity will be I cannot tell you yet for now. The commodity price is about 30% of the final price and it is essentially the only transparent item as it strictly follows the development of market prices. Other components, such as distribution tariffs, fees paid to the nuclear fund, the tariff to operate the system (support for RES and coal mining in Upper Nitra), are included in the price calculation. I estimate an increase of 7% to 9% of the final price,“ Juraj Krajcar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZSE Energia, said for the web portal vEnergetike.sk.

Large industrial customers who will be signing new contracts with suppliers must also expect an increase of the price of this commodity. „In this group of customers, the commodity price will be adjusted to market conditions, that means it will surely rise next year. If a customer had the price of electricity or natural gas fixed for a longer period of time (2 to 3 years), it is possible that the current offer from his supplier will surprise him. Since 2016, electricity price has essentially doubled, and natural gas price has increased slightly less,“ said Krajcar.
