According to the data published in the annual report of the company JESS, the new nuclear facility project has already swallowed almost 27 million euros.

Slovakia will probably not build the new nuclear power plant so soon. After roughly nine years, the new nuclear facility that former Prime Minister Robert Fico planned to build in order to replace two nuclear units in Jaslovske Bohunice, which are being decommissioned, will probably be put on ice for the time being, Economy Minister Peter Ziga opines. “I think that the new nuclear facility is not topical,“ Ziga said at the European Nuclear Forum. His says that low electricity prices on the international markets can be ascribed to this. “This project is not economically viable due to currently low electricity prices on the market. We will have to wait for the price that will make us see the return on the investment,“ Ziga stated. He added that the Slovak government has no interest in guaranteed feed-in-tariffs.
