A businessman from Vranov nad Toplou will spend 11 years in prison.
The Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic dismissed the appeal lodged by one of the accused in Transpetrol case, Ignac Ilcisin today, making the verdict by the Special Criminal Court in February 2015, which sentenced him to 11 years in prison, valid. The appellant demanded halting the criminal prosecution as he suffered from mental disorders accompanied by hallucinations, showed a psychiatrist’s report. He is unable to realize the importance of the trial as a result. However, the court accepted the opinion provided by a different psychiatrist who questioned the report. The chairwoman of the senate says that it was proved that Ilcisin had committed the offences he was accused of. The second accused Jan H. also claims he suffers from mental disorders. He was excluded from this trial and will face an individual proceeding.
