The economy ministry has submitted the amendment to the Act on Energy for an interdepartmental review before the end of the year. This is not an extensive amendment the economy ministry has been talking about for some time, but a modification of the act with the aim to reflect additional EC requirements on the transposition of the Third Energy Package. “The bill, among other things, stipulates the emergency situation in the power sector, how to avoid it, emergency testing, rights and obligations of the electricity market participants, emergency reporting and restricted measures,“ the ministry stated in the report. Definitions of the new terms related to electromobility have also been introduced in the amendment. These changes will also affect entrepreneurs who consider starting business in gas distribution. The amendment is expected to eliminate obligations of energy consumers.
