BRATISLAVA/SOBRANCE, November 8, (WEBNOVINY) — The Slovak Republic’s border police detained nine illegal migrants in eastern Slovakia. A curious case happened near the village of Inovce in Sobrance district, where a police patrol found a woman from Ukraine, who claims she went for a walk into the woods after an argument with her partner, lost orientation and accidentally wandered to the Slovak territory. She was returned to Ukraine.
In the village of Ulicske Krive in Snina district police captured five Afghans, three of them underage. They wanted to get to Austria or Germany. Spokeswoman of the Directorate of the Border Police Agnesa Kopernicka told SITA news agency that they allegedly paid USD 25,000 each for the transit. Two refugees were returned to Ukraine within the framework of the readmission treaty. The underage illegal migrants were taken over by employees of the Office for Labor, Social Affairs and Family. Furthermore, three Moldovan illegal migrants were found in the village of Chonkovce, Sobrance district. Each of them allegedly paid EUR 100 to an unknown man to take them across the border. The foreigners ended up back in Ukraine.
