State Supported Collectors and Boilers with EUR 3.9M

BRATISLAVA, March 18, (WEBNOVINY) – The state has paid out EUR 3.9 million in subsidies for solar collectors and biomass-fueled boilers to households within the program supporting use of biomass and solar energy. The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) reported that state subsidies for installation of boilers and solar panels have been approved for 4,115 applicants. The subsidy for solar collectors was the most attractive when 3,287 applications for solar collectors on family houses have been approved. Moreover, further 350 applications are waiting for approval, informed Katarina Antalova from SIEA communication department.

This year, the Economy Ministry has earmarked nearly EUR 2.7 million for subsidies within the program supporting better use of renewable energy sources. The agency has not yet provided any subsidies, as the law on provision of subsidies in the jurisdiction of the Economy Ministry is still waiting for approval. New applications will be evaluated based on the prepared law. Nonetheless, the agency continues accepting applications, Antalova added. The law should take effect as of May of this year. Between the start of this year and the end of February, the agency reported 554 new applications for subsidies for biomass boilers and solar collectors worth over EUR 500,000.
