TRNAVA, November 20, (WEBNOVINY) – Jan Figel will run for the top post in KDH as the sole candidate at the party congress slated to take place in two weeks. Daniel Lipsic, Jana Zitnanska, Ivan Uhliarik, Julius Brocka, Pavol Abrhan and Jan Hudacky are nominated for the posts of deputy chairpersons, which means that incumbent deputy chairs Maria Sabolova and Anton Marcincin will likely lose their posts. These nominations were approved on Saturday in Trnava, where the KDH Council was held. The congress will elect the top representatives of the party for a four-year term for the first time.
The Council also dealt with the present events on the political scene, including the election of the Prosecutor General. “KDH will do its utmost for an agreement in the coalition so that the election will be successful. I will not comment on names, but consultations between individual parties take place every day at expert and political levels. KDH is determined to attain an agreement so that not only the Coalition Council but also representatives of four deputy caucuses will be able to deliver a joint nomination to the parliament on Monday,” said KDH leader Jan Figel.
In its statement dedicated to the municipal elections, the KDH obliged its candidates to an open and fair competition and decried vote buying.
