BRATISLAVA, December 17, (WEBNOVINY) — A prosecutor at the Office of Special Prosecution has already received a decision of the investigator who rejected the motion concerning alleged dubious funding of the SDKU-DS party about a decade ago, together with an extensive case file. Jana Tokolyova, spokeswoman for the prosecutor general confirmed this information to SITA news agency. “With regard to the extent and complexity of the case file, the material as well as the decision is subject to the prosecutor’s examination,” she stated.
Former Prime Minister Robert Fico accused the leadership of the then opposition party SDKU-DS of dubious funding in January of this year. Fico believed that shell companies in London with directors in tax havens and accounts in foreign banks were controlling the party. In response to Fico’s repeated news conferences regarding these allegations, Dzurinda gave up the post of party election leader and decided to not run in the parliamentary elections in June. Dzurinda currently holds the post of Foreign Affairs Minister.
