Industrial Prices in Slovakia Grew Faster over July

BRATISLAVA, August 28, (WEBNOVINY) — AccorThe growth rate of prices in the industrial sector in Slovakia modestly accelerated in July. ding to the Statistics Office, in July industrial producer prices grew by 1.5 percent, while in June it was by 1.4 percent. In a monthly comparison, industrial prices fell by 0.4 percent, while in the previous month they dropped by 0.6 percent.

Prices of industrial producers for the local market in July dwindled 0.3 percent from June. Prices in industrial manufacturing fell by 0.5 percent and in mining and quarrying by 0.4 percent. Conversely, prices in water supply, sewerage, and waste management grew by 0.2 percent and prices of supply of electricity, gas, steam and cooled air grew by 0.1 percent. In industrial manufacturing, prices dropped of coke and refined petroleum products by 3.9 percent, chemicals and chemical products by 3.2 percent, prices of wood and paper products and print were 1 percent down. On the other hand, growth was reported with prices of the so-called other production, maintenance and installation of machines by 2.7 percent and production of transport means by 0.6 percent. Computers, electronic and optical products and also electric equipment had prices higher by 0.3 percent each.

Prices of industrial producers for the local market soared 3.6 percent y/y with prices for electricity, gas, steam and cooled air going up by 7.8 percent, in mining and quarrying by 6.4 percent, in water supply, sewerage, and waste management by 5.8 percent and in industrial manufacturing by 0.4 percent. On average from the beginning of the year compared with the same period last year, prices for the local market grew by 3.7 percent. Thereby, prices for electricity, gas, steam and cooled air grew by 7.3 percent, in mining and quarrying by 6.2 percent, in water supply, sewerage, and waste management by 4.2 percent and in industrial manufacturing by 1.1 percent.

Export prices dropped month-on-month by 0.5 percent. Prices in water supply, sewerage, and waste management went down 2.1 percent, in mining and quarrying by 2 percent and in industrial manufacturing by 0.5 percent. Prices of supply of electricity, gas, steam and cooled air grew by 0.2 percent. In a y/y comparison export prices did not change in July. On average from the beginning of the year export prices of industrial producers grew by 0.6 percent due to higher prices of supply of electricity, gas, steam and cooled air by 7.1 percent, mining and quarrying by 2.5 percent and industrial manufacturing by 0.5 percent.
