BRATISLAVA, August 30, (WEBNOVINY) — A shooting spree in the residential area of Devinska Nova Ves in the western part of Bratislava on Monday morning has claimed six lives. According to information provided by Dominika Sulkova from the Emergency Medical Service, four women and two men have been shot to death. The shooting started at 10 a.m., while twenty persons were injured, including a three-year old child. Injuries of three of the victims are serious.
A local public radio warning system was used to warn people not to go outside or look out of their windows. „We had verified information from the police, so we warned people,“ mayor of Devinska Nova Ves Vladimir Mraz told SITA news agency. There is no information about the shooter or motives available at this point. Police has closed off the area. A news conference about the tragedy was announced for the afternoon.
