EU Will Help Slovakia Despite Rejected Help to Greece

BRUSSELS, December 17, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovakia will receive more than 20 million euro in aid from the European Solidarity Fund for elimination the consequences of this year’s devastating floods. Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova confirmed this information after the end of the European Council meeting in Brussels on Friday. According to her, Brussels will send us the money in spite of the voices that Bratislava could have problems with approval of aid because of the “responsible and high-principled position toward approval of aid”. Radicova was hinting at Slovakia’s non-participation in the euro zone bailout of Greece. “I think this is sufficient evidence not to further elaborate these speculations,” she said.
