BRATISLAVA, September 10, (WEBNOVINY) — The growth rate of Slovak industry in July accelerated. According to data of the Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic, industrial output in July net of the influence of the number of work days rose 18.5 percent from 13 percent in June. The July, development was affected by a rise in industrial production by 22.6 percent and a decline in mining and extraction by 8.2 percent, in supplies of electricity, gas, steam and cooled air by 2.8 percent. In monthly terms net of seasonal influences, industrial production in July went up by 1.5 points from June.
Similarly as in the past months, Slovak industry is driven by car production. The annual increase in overall industrial output in the seventh month is mostly attributable to production of transport means, going up 83.9 percent. Production of metals and metal structures other than machinery and equipment rose 10.4 percent, production of electrical equipment swelled 16 percent, production of textiles, clothing, leather and leather products 11.9 percent, while production of coke and refined crude oil products went up 4.6 percent. The volume of output declined in particular in production of machinery and equipment not classified elsewhere by 15.8 percent and in production of basic pharmaceutical products and supplements by 44.4 percent.
