Bratislava Exchange Boosted at the Year’s Close

BRATISLAVA, January 1 (WEBNOVINY) — The Bratislava Stock Exchange firmed at the year’s close. In the last, shortened week of the previous year the share index SAX gained 2.41 points to 215.45 points in a week-on-week comparison. From the share issues forming the index base, the share price of VUB bank rose the most, namely by 6.25 percent to EUR 74.6.

Shares of the company Tatry Mountain Resorts also reported an increase in the value, namely by 0.44 percent to EUR 43.25. In contrast, the share price of Best Hotel Properties went down by 0.43 percent w/w to EUR 11.47. Shares of the power engineering firm SES Tlmace stagnated at EUR 7.01, oil refiner Slovnaft shares at EUR 44 and shares of the pharmaceutical company Biotika remained at the unchanged EUR 22.49, too. Shares of OTP Banka Slovensko stagnated as well, being at EUR 2.5 per share.

On the first trading day, which was Tuesday, the SAX share index gained 0.07 points. It firmed 2.58 points midweek and 0.03 points on Thursday. On Friday, it however lost 0.27 points, closing the week at 215.45 points.

The overall traded volume on the Stock Exchange in Bratislava represented EUR 211.8 million last week with only four trading days. Thereof, anonymous transactions accounted for EUR 519,000, with share transactions worth EUR 495,000. A week before the traded volume on the Bratislava Stock Exchange was EUR 230.5 million, with anonymous transactions worth EUR 551,000 and share trading worth EUR 10.4 million.
