According to the ministry, roughly 1.5 million gas consumers in Slovakia will rely, among other things, on gas supplies in underground storage facilities.
Slovakia does not have to fear a possible gas crisis during the coming winter months. „Thanks to the measures taken, we may state that Slovakia is better prepared for possible gas supplies disruptions which occurred in 2009,“ the Economy Ministry wrote in its report. The report will be soon discussed by the government. According to the ministry, roughly 1.5 million gas consumers in Slovakia will rely, among other things, on gas supplies in underground storage facilities operated by companies Nafta, Pozagas and SPP Storage. In early August, 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas were stored in gas storage facilities which is over 60% of the total capacity.
