The construction of power lines on the route Gabcikovo – Gonyu – Velky Dur and Rimavská Sobota – Sajoivanka are before the start of the territorial proceeding. The approval from the Hungarian grid operator with the contract on the construction of power lines is awaited.
Two new power lines are expected to join the existing old power lines between Slovakia and Hungary. The Slovak Electricity Transmission Network (SEPS) continue working on new 400-KV power lines on the route Gabcikovo – Gonyu – Velky Dur and Rimavská Sobota – Sajoivanka. This project brings good news for Slovakia as new lines will increase safety of the operation of the Slovak electricity transmission network. Besides, they will enable a better use of the new nuclear blocks in Mochovce which are under construction. The new power lines will provide an opportunity to export electricity generated at the third and fourth nuclear block in Mochovce to the Balkan countries which are battling with electricity shortage.
