A 60-million-loan will be provided on projects increasing safety of nuclear power plants in Jaslovske Bohunice and Mochovce.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide a 60-million-euro loan to Slovenske Elektrarne, a long-term partner of the EU bank, in order to support nuclear safety improvements in existing nuclear power plants Jaslovske Bohunice and Mochovce. These investments will enable the Slovak electricity producer to fulfill its obligations under EU regulations and national legislation and will support the on-going safe operation of low carbon electricity generation. EIB Vice-President Vazil Hudak and financial director at Slovenske Elektrarne Pedro Canamero stated on Monday while signing the loan contract aimed at increasing nuclear safety of Slovenske Elektrarne. The loan will notably implement certain measures defined in the National Action Plan for Slovakia, prepared on the basis of the post-Fukushima European Stress Tests for nuclear power plants.
