SPP has lodged a criminal complaint in regard to an unauthorized announcement of the distraint procedure.
A 30-million-euro distraint procedure against the gas utility Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP) was halted. The state-owned company SPP, which is convinced about the unlawfulness of the distraint procedure, received the decision on halting a distraint from the District Court in Banska Bystrica on Monday. “The attempt of the Cypriot shell company to get hold of the assets of SPP and the Slovak Republic at any price failed,“ a spokesman for SPP Ondrej Sebesta informed. According to SPP, it was impossible to start a distraint procedure against SPP under the law and in regard to the present dispute with the Cypriot shell company. “We took all steps to protect our rights after receiving a notice on starting distraint,“ Sebesta said, adding that SPP lodged a criminal complaint.
