BRATISLAVA, March 14, (WEBNOVINY) — On Monday, Economy Minister Juraj Miskov together with Director General of the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) Robert Simoncic informed on the outcome of their business trip to the USA and confirmed to journalists that US companies would create more than 2,500 new jobs in Slovakia. “Also thanks to our investment roadshow, 2,500 new jobs with added value will be created in Slovakia” said minister Miskov.
The minister elaborated that the American multinational technology and consulting firm IBM will open 550 new positions, AT&T should offer 300 to 500 new jobs, Hewlett-Packard indicated creation of 600 new jobs, while 250 people may find employment at Johnson Controls. “These new jobs, which involve higher added value, are to be created in companies that are already operating in Slovakia, but we have also investments promised by companies that have not yet established their business here, ” said Miskov and added that these new jobs would not cost the state a single cent as they will be created without the state’s assistance. The minister also informed on the investment of the company Honeywell International totaling EUR 38.309 million, which is to create 446 new jobs in the Zaborske industrial park near Presov, eastern Slovakia.
