Slovakia Borrowed EUR 193M in Monday's Bond Auction

BRATISLAVA, June 13, (WEBNOVINY) — On Monday, Slovakia borrowed EUR 193 million on the financial market. According to information released by the Finance Ministry’s Debt and Liquidity Management Agency (ARDAL), the agency accepted this volume from overall demand of EUR 321 million in Monday’s auction of bonds maturing in October 2013. Thereof, bonds worth EUR 5 million were sold to foreign investors.

Investors wanted to buy the bonds at an average price of 99.0862 percent of par value. The minimum demanded price was 98.8700 percent and maximum 99.2600 percent. ARDAL satisfied the demand at an average price of 99.1319 percent. The minimum accepted price was 99.1000 percent. The maximum accepted price reached 99.2600 percent.

Slovakia has sold securities valued at over EUR 1.4 billion in ten government bond auctions this year. Moreover, EUR 200 million was issued in the portfolio of the Finance Ministry. In addition to this, ARDAL has sold government bonds from the series No. 213 and 214 in a syndicated auction in the total value EUR 2.25 million. A major part of Slovakia’s debt so far of EUR 2 billion, has been refinanced by foreign investors.
