Slovak Business Alliance Hails Singapore Concept

BRATISLAVA, June 13, (WEBNOVINY) — The Slovak Business Alliance (PAS) has hailed the intention of the Economy Ministry and the team of Prime Minister Iveta Radicova to introduce one hundred measures tailored to improve the business environment in Slovakia. The alliance agrees that the steps designed by the Cabinet to reduce the administrative burden shouldered by entrepreneurs could help the development of businesses in Slovakia.

Nonetheless, the PAS has pointed out that a more intensive battle with corruption in public offices, better law enforceability, fair treatment in public procurements and stabilization of legislation governing business conduct are of greater importance to entrepreneurs. A statement by the alliance also mentions another pivotal task, namely the simplification of the system of payroll levies and reduction of the overall burden of payroll contributions.

The National Association of Employers, also, welcomes the package of measures code-named the Singapore Concept. Notwithstanding, employers expect a profound change in the Cabinet’s attitude to the problems faced by entrepreneurs. To enhance Slovakia’s competitiveness, the government of the Slovak Republic should carry out fundamental changes in other fields, including labor laws and the amount of social insurance premiums imposed on work, employers stated last week.
