BRATISLAVA, February 4, (WEBNOVINY) — Deputy caucus of the coalition party Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) expressed its outrage and disapproval of the way directors Jan Podhorsky and Ivan Zich were to be compensated for serving as managers in the heating company Teplaren Kosice for only a short period of time. “The party calls on Jan Podhorsky to return the golden parachute payment of almost EUR 100,000 from Teplaren Kosice for his forty days in the office,“ said head of the SaS deputy caucus Jozef Kollar. The caucus also calls on Ivan Zich not to accept the golden parachute payment for his four-month service in the post of a director of Teplaren Kosice. He added that SaS would support all government’s legislative proposals aimed at preventing similar cases of enrichment at the expense of the state and citizens.

The Kosice heating plant, which is controlled by the National Property Fund, now has the fourth chief since the June parliamentary election. The Korzar daily reported that a native of Kosice, Jan Podhradsky (SDKU-DS nominee) and Bratislava native Ivan Zich (SaS nominee) received a golden parachute payment of over EUR 90,000 in addition to their monthly salary ranging between EUR 6,160 and 13,660 for 40-day and four-month service. Jan Podhorsky lead Teplaren Kosice between August 2010 and September 2010 ad Ivan Zich was in the post of director since the end of September until January 31 of this year.
