SaS MP Quits Party Slate due to Differing Opinions

BRATISLAVA, February 15, (WEBNOVINY) – SaS MP Szilard Somogyi who occupies the 16h spot on the party’s slate will not run in the March early parliamentary elections. The conclusion that he no longer has the same values as the liberal party SaS made him resign from the slate.

“Having considered all circumstances I have today delivered a letter to the SaS chairman, Mr. Sulik, giving up my place on the slate for the elections to Parliament,” he told journalists on Wednesday. Somogyi emphasized that the move was his own decision and in no way did SaS force him to resign from the candidate list. “I’ve become alienated from values SaS esteems,” he added. In an interview with the web portal Aktuality.sk, the MP announced that everyone should own only as much as to cover their personal needs. He is convinced that humankind is genetically preconditioned to be greedy and therefore, conditions fruitful for its evolution should be eliminated.
