Prices in Slovak industry Increased Last Month

BRATISLAVA, July 28, (WEBNOVINY) – Prices in Slovak industry in June continued growing in yearly terms. According to data of the Slovak Statistics Office, industrial producer prices in Slovakia went up 0.8 percent y/y in the sixth month, while in May they were 0.5 percent y/y lower. Prices for the domestic market are still below last year’s level, but the drop slowed from May’s 3.1 percent to 1.9 percent in June. The growth of export prices decelerated from 3.6 percent in May to 3.2 percent in June.

Behind the decline in prices for the domestic market was a 5.7 percent downswing in prices of generation and distribution of electric energy, natural gas, steam and cool air. In contrast, prices of supplies of water, treatment, drainage of wastewater and waste disposal and related services rose 7.7 percent, prices of mining and exploration of mineral raw materials 3.3 percent, and in industrial manufacturing, prices went up 0.9 percent y/y.
