Growth of Industrial Producer Prices Slowed down over April

BRATISLAVA, May 27, (WEBNOVINY) — The growth rate of industrial producer prices in Slovakia decelerated over the fourth month of this year. The Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic reported on Friday that industrial producer prices grew 5.8 percent in annual terms, which was a 0.1-percentage point slowdown from March. Industrial producer prices grew 5.4 percent on average in the January-April period. Growth of domestic industrial producer prices slowed down by 0.2 percentage points from March to 3.1 percent. In yearly terms, domestic industrial producer prices went up 0.4 percent.

Regarding domestic prices, the growth pace of prices of industrial manufacturing accelerated 0.1 percentage point to 4.9 percent in April. In yearly terms, in particular prices of coke and refined crude oil products swelled 31 percent. On the other hand, the biggest drop of 1.2 percent was reported in prices of machinery and equipment.

Prices of coke and refined oil products increased the most in monthly terms, too, by 4.8 percent. The most significant decline of 1.7 percent posted prices of wooden, paper and printed products.

Prices of mining and extraction of mineral raw materials grew 0.3 percent in the fourth month, compared with 5 percent in the previous month. The growth rate of energy prices decelerated 0.4 points to 0.6 percent. The growth rate of prices of water distribution and wastewater treatment rose 0.2 points to 5.4 percent. In monthly terms, prices of mining and extraction of mineral raw materials dropped 1.7 percent, energy prices did not change and prices of water supplies and wastewater treatment grew 0.4 percent.

Industrial producer prices for export rose 7.8 percent in yearly terms. In the previous month, the y/y growth represented 7.9 percent. On average for the first four months of the year, the growth rate of export industrial prices is 7.5 percent. In monthly terms, industrial prices for export grew 1 percent in April, down from 1.3 percent in March.
