BRATISLAVA, September 10, (WEBNOVINY) – Incumbent government is “the right one for Slovakia and it will continue until the end of its election term,” stated state secretary of the Finance Ministry Vladimir Tvaroska on a debate program titled Saturday’s Dialogues of the public-service Slovak Radio. He admitted that the coalition will have to hold a lot of discussions. “I am sure that at the end of the day, we will always find a consensus and the right decision,” he added in connection with the EU bailout fund, which the liberal member of the governing coalition, the SaS party, does not want to support.
Tvaroska reminded that as the coalition agreed, Slovakia will be the last country to vote on the EU rescue mechanisms in parliament. Therefore, the parties should have enough time to find a consensus. It is a matter of three to four weeks, he opines, and “then it will actually be seen whether the government has or does not have support in parliament,” he added.
Tvaroska’s predecessor Peter Kazimir for the opposition SMER-SD party thinks that the coalition will issue a key statement already on Monday, following the talks of coalition deputies with Cabinet members. The situation is serious with regard to the situation in Europe, he said, while pointing attention to the Slovak government’s commitments within the EU.
