Business Alliance Concerned about some Government's Plans

BRATISLAVA, May 9, (WEBNOVINY) — The Business Alliance of Slovakia welcomes the commitment to improve the business environment in the government manifesto. Business people however are concerned that some of plans of the government of Robert Fico, such as progressive taxation, tougher labor legislation, extension of higher-level collective agreements and also expansion of various subsidy mechanisms and schemes might cause damages to the business environment.

These concerns motivated the Business Alliance to address an appeal to the government asking it to observe first of all its commitment to create “favorable and stable business environment creating conditions for economic growth in executing its economic policy. Moreover, they urge the government to communicate with the groups to which it may concern in preparation of bills and take into consideration constructive comments of the business sector.

Apart from the stable macroeconomic policy that creates a basic framework for functioning of the economy, businesses also call for improved law enforceability, less red tape, stabilization of legislation, limiting fraud in business, tougher anti-corruption measures and fairness in public procurement.
