BRATISLAVA, February 27, (WEBNOVINY) — The Bratislava Stock Exchange lost over 10 points last week. The value of the Slovak share index SAX decreased by 10.72 points to 225.63 points. Behind the decline is also lower value of OTP Banka Slovensko shares, which lost 50.98 percent on low traded volume and their price fell to EUR 2.01.
Also shares of VUB Banka dropped by 4.42 percent to EUR 87. On contrary, shares of the oil refiner Slovnaft increased 6.38 percent to EUR 50. The price of shares of the pharmaceutical company Biotika went up as well, surging 4.88 percent to EUR 21.51. Shares of the company Tatry Mountain Resorts grew 1.05 percent to EUR 41.33 and shares of the company Best Hotel Properties showed a w/w increase in value by 0.72 percent to EUR 11.18.
The value of the SAX index strengthened at the start of the week by 4.02 points. On Tuesday, SAX however lost 1.29 points and further 0.08 points midweek. SAX firmed on Thursday when it gained 0.71 points and weakened again at the end of the week losing 14.08 points. The exchange closed the week at 225.63 points.
Overall traded volume on the Stock Exchange in Bratislava last week reached EUR 248.1 million, with anonymous trades amounting to EUR 1.1 million and share trading to EUR 1 million. A week ago, the traded volume reached EUR 63.9 million, of which anonymous transactions accounted for EUR 1.4 million and share trading made up EUR 879,200.
