BRATISLAVA, January 2, (WEBNOVINY) — The Bratislava Stock Exchange firmed at the close of 2010. In the last week of the past year the official Slovak share index SAX strengthened by 3.79 points to 230.38 points. Of base titles, shares of VUB bank posted the most significant growth when their price surged 4.9 percent to EUR 85 from the previous week.
The value of shares of the power engineering company SES Tlmace went up as well by 3.23 percent to EUR 16. Also stock price of pharmaceutical company Biotika grew by 2.83 percent to 18.52 euros. Shares of the company Tatry Mountain Resorts went up 0.81 percent to EUR 41.3. Stock price of the company Best Hotel Properties increased 0.55 percent w/w to EUR 11.02. Slovnaft crude oil refiner shares remained at the last week’s level of EUR 44.6. Compared with the previous week, shares of OTP Banka stagnated as well at EUR 4.1.
The value of the SAX index went up every trading day of the past week. At the beginning of the week SAX strengthened by 0.35 points. On Tuesday, it gained 0.49 points and on Wednesday 0.02 points. On Thursday, it strengthened by an additional 2.6 points and gained another 0.33 points on Friday to close the week and also the year at 230.38 points.
Overall traded volume on the Stock Exchange in Bratislava last week reached 24.5 million euros; thereof, anonymous trades amounted to 430,200 euros, with share trading of 3.9 million euros. In the four trading days of the previous week on the Bratislava Stock Exchange, the traded volume was 210.3 million euros, of which anonymous transactions accounted for 1.2 million euros and share trading made up 649,500 euros.
