BRATISLAVA, August 8, (WEBNOVINY) – The company Volkswagen Slovakia is to renew production of cars in its Bratislava-based plant on Monday, August 9, after a two-week summer break. The company used the break for regular check-ups and maintenance that can be performed only during halted production. Preparations for a new production of New Small Family vehicles continued during the summer break, too. Approximately 320 employees of the firm and contractors carried out construction works and installed technological equipment.
Volkswagen will continue recruiting new staff members in connection with higher demand and extended production. In September, a round-the-clock operation will start. The company still needs to hire 260 of the planned 1,000 new employees.
First cars of the New Small Family line of cars are to leave the plant in 2011. The Bratislava plant will become a world rarity with the production of five different brands of cars manufactured “under one roof”.
