The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency has issued 1,453 vouchers for the installation of small-scale RES. Households showed biggest interest in photovoltaic panels for electricity production.
The first round of the vouchers for the purchase and installation of small home power electricity and heat plant has lasted only for four days. The Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency (SIEA) plans to launch the second round in January 2016. Seven percent of the total sum of 45 million euros allocated for the project Green for Households has been provided within the first round. The agency has issued 1,453 vouchers for the installation of small-scale RES. Households living outside Bratislava region have received 1,258 vouchers. They showed biggest interest in photovoltaic panels for electricity production (38%) and solar collectors for water heating (34%). Heat pumps which are able to use heat from the surrounding environment followed (20%). The agency has issued 195 vouchers in the Bratislava region in the first round. Photovoltaic panels account for almost half of all planned installations. Almost a third of vouchers issued were for heat pumps and 21% for solar collectors. After the first round, 100 biomass boilers are expected to be installed in Slovakia.
