The Regulatory Office for Network Industries considers the statements of some constitutional officials irresponsible given the sensitiveness of the matter.
The Regulatory Office for Network Industries (URSO) rejects the statements of some constitutional officials that Slovakia has some of the highest electricity prices across the European Union. The Office stated that according to Eurostat data, Slovak households pay far less for electricity than the EU average. „Even despite the fact that support for green electricity is already included in electricity bills, while in some other EU countries, this support is financed through other taxes,“ URSO’s spokesman Radoslav Igaz added. The regulator also disagrees with the statements on the most expensive electricity for Slovak businessmen. „According to the latest Eurostat data, average electricity prices for the Slovak industry have been lower than the average in the EU since 2014,“ Igaz stressed.
