The economy ministry requests an additional sum of 224 million euros from Italian company Enel for a 66-percent share in Slovenske Elektrarne.
The current leadership at the economy ministry would like to reach a settlement with Italian company Enel on the privatization of a 66-percent stake in Slovenske Elektrarne (SE). „We have decided to bring this matter to an end. However, we still have a lot of work ahead,“ Economy Minister Peter Ziga said after the cabinet’s session. According to the state analysis, Italian Enel is expected to pay an additional sum of approximately 224 million euros for acquiring a majority share in a Slovak dominant electricity producer. But, minister Ziga demands even more. „We think the sum will be higher. I will not reveal any particular numbers, but it will probably be more,“ said Ziga. Enel acquired a 66-percent stake in Slovenske Elektrarne for 840 million euros.
