Slovakia Offers Hand to Post-Gaddafi Libya

BRATISLAVA, October 21, (WEBNOVINY) — Having received the news that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was killed, the Slovak diplomacy is convinced that the most important issue right now is to stop violence threatening civilians. “New leaders of the country and its people have to embark on the process of building a pluralistic society and a viable economy. On this road, they will need support of the international community including the Slovak Republic,” reads a press release of the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry, which its spokesman Lubos Schwarzbacher provided to SITA news agency. According to the ministry, Slovakia is prepared to support reforms in Libya, share the country’s relevant transformation experience and develop mutual economic cooperation with the new Libya.

Slovakia is among the countries that officially recognized the Transitional National Council of Libyan rebels as legitimate government on August 30 of this year.
