President Voted for People whom He Trusts

BRATISLAVA, November 27, (WEBNOVINY)- President Ivan Gasparovic thinks that problems faced by many municipalities in Slovakia including high indebtedness should be decided by people who understand the situation. “These are issues about which people should decide who understand it and want to help the town and citizens,” he said. Many municipalities in Slovakia suffer from accumulated debts and it is not only Bratislava whose current leadership leaves big debts worth millions behind while new city fathers will have to grapple with the inherited debt burden.

Being asked about the worst problems of the capital, which its new mayor should deal with Gasparovic said that Bratislava suffers from a lot of problems. He named transport, heath service, parking, low number of parks and playing grounds and the shrinking number of sports facilities. He criticized as well that little was done for elders and people on wheelchairs.

In reaction to the question why he came to vote today he said that people who have his trust will decide on issues related to the city and life in it. He underscored that if he had not come he would not have used his right and lost the possibility to be critical about issues.
