Návštevníci si mohli pozrieť stánky ministerstiev a organizácii v ich pôsobností a môžu si vyskúšať činnosti, ktoré ponúkajú. Areál Parku pod pamätníkom SNP bol pre verejnosť otvorený od 09:00 a k dispozícii bolo veľké množstvo atrakcií, stánok Klubu vojenskej histórie a ukážka ľahkej, ťažkej, statickej i dynamickej techniky.
Od 10:00 bol na programe pietny akt kladenia vencov pri Pamätníku SNP.

Nasledovali príhovory hostí aj kultúrne vstupy, s prejavmi vystúpili aj prezident Peter Pellegrini a premiér Robert Fico. Veľkolepá vojenská prehliadka
Od 17:00 prebiehala aj veľkolepá vojenská prehliadka. Ako priblížil hovorca Ozbrojených síl SR Štefan Zemanovič, diváci celkovo videli viac ako 2 500 vojakov vrátane obslúh techniky, a to pozemnej aj leteckej, a tiež viac ako 200 kusov techniky.

Na vojenskej prehliadke sa zúčastnili vojaci všetkých útvarov a zväzkov a spolu s nimi aj alianční spojenci pôsobiaci v rámci mnohonárodnej brigády pod španielskym velením na Lešti. Vojaci odprezentovali aj techniku a produkty slovenského obranného priemyslu.

Hlavným organizátorom osláv 80. výročia SNP je rezort obrany. Ministerstvo uviedlo, že odkaz SNP je pre MO SR mimoriadne silný, a preto minister obrany SR Robert Kaliňák (Smer-SD) prevzal generálnu záštitu nad všetkými oficiálnymi spomienkami na 80. výročie SNP, ktoré sa konajú tento rok v rôznych častiach Slovenska.
„Rezort obrany v súvislosti s prípravou a realizáciou osláv komunikuje so všetkými zainteresovanými spoluorganizátormi a participujúcimi zložkami, ktorými sú Úrad vlády SR, Kancelária prezidenta SR, mesto Banská Bystrica, Banskobystrický samosprávny kraj, ako aj Múzeum SNP a ďalšie ministerstvá,“ uzavrelo MO SR.
