BRATISLAVA, January 27, (WEBNOVINY) — Several instances of theft of tickets for the 2011 World Ice Hockey Championship to be held in Bratislava and Kosice from April 29 to May 15, 2011 have been reported recently. The championship organizers have information of tickets stolen from a passenger vehicle; one hundred more were stolen from a safe of a Bratislava company. The championship organizing committee therefore warns potential buyers that by buying the tickets elsewhere than at the official retailer, Ticketportal, ice hockey fans might become victims of a scam. “Ticketportal is not liable for the loss of tickets. At the same time, we would like to warn the fans, that the numbers of stolen tickets confirmed by the police will be registered in the IT system. It will be impossible to enter the venues, Orange Arena in Bratislava and Steel Arena in Kosice, with these tickets. The organizing committee emphasizes that Ticketportal is the official ticket retailer. In the case that other subjects offer tickets to the 2011 IHF Hockey Championship, the purchaser has no guarantee that he or she will not become the victim of a scam and will not buy tickets registered in the system as invalid. The buyer is taking the risk without a possibility to return the tickets and is taking the risk of buying worthless tickets,” states the organizing committee.
