BRATISLAVA, June 25, (WEBNOVINY) – The number of beneficiaries eligible for benefits in material need moderately decreased in June of this year for the second month in a row. According to the figures presented by the Central Office of Labor, Social Affairs and Family, as many as 187,200 individuals received this form of social assistance in the sixth month, which was a decrease by 1,400 from the previous month. The number of beneficiaries dropped 4,400 in annual terms. After considering other family members, 367,300 persons depended on material-need benefits at the end of the sixth month, representing 6.79 percent of Slovakia’s population.
Districts that reported the most beneficiaries in June were Revuca (9,600 people; 23.80 percent of local residents), Rimavska Sobota (18,400; 22.3 percent) and Roznava (12,100; almost 19.6 percent). Traditionally, the five Bratislava districts registered the lowest number of recipients between 0.55 and 1.07 percent of the population.
