BRATISLAVA, October 21, (WEBNOVINY) — The Police disclosed the contents of the e-mail threat due to which Bratislava Airport has been evacuated on Thursday afternoon. Spokesman for the Bratislava Police, Frantisek Peczar, said that an anonymous person announced in the e-mail that unless he was paid a certain sum of money the airport would be blown up. Police currently conducts a pyrotechnic search at the airport with a dog specially trained to find explosives. Eventually, no explosives were found and the airport resumed standard services.
After receiving the threat, the Bratislava Airport adopted several measures as precaution. “The airport operations were temporarily suspended. Passengers have been evacuated to a safe distance from the terminal. Transport to the airport has been shut down. Traffic has been diverted from the airport,” informed spokeswoman of the airport company Letisko M. R. Stefanika – Airport Bratislava Daniela Madunicka.
