The state has not sent any advisor to the company who would provide a real view of the company in regards to its technical, legal and economic issues, since Italian company Enel officially announced its plan to sell the power utility Slovenske Elektrarne.
Month June has not untangled whether the Slovak government will bid for a 66-percent stake in Slovenske Elektrarne. The planned talks between the representatives of the Slovak government and top managers of Italian Enel, which has put up its stake for a sale, was not eventually held in June. For now, it is unknown when the representatives of both sides will meet to discuss the sale of the stake in a Slovak dominant electricity producer. At the moment, it is questionable whether the state will participate in the purchase of Slovenske Elektrarne’s shares ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for the next year. The state has not sent any advisor to the company who would provide a real view of the company in regards to its technical, legal and economic issues, since the Italians officially announced their plan to sell the power utility a year ago. A spokeswoman for the economy minister, Miriam Ziakova, said the state might make such announcement sometimes in the future.
