After cabinet session on Wednesday, Finance Minister Peter Kazimir indicated that the price for strengthening the state’s position in the power utility Slovenske Elektrarne might not be high at all regarding company’s obligations. However, he considers it inevitable to bring the completion of Mochovce NPP under control.
Strengthening the state’s position in the power utility Slovenske Elektrarne could be in regard to the need of additional sources cheaper than it seems at first sight, Finance Minister Peter Kazimir outlined after cabinet session on Wednesday. „The opinion on the value of such a share or another differs. In my opinion, the value of this company is close to zero taking into consideration its obligations,“ Kazimir told journalists. In connection with the possible strengthening of the state’s position in Slovenske Elektrarne, the government intends to use the revenue from the sale of the state’s stake in Slovak Telekom, which has already started on the stock exchanges. According to the tender prices, the government could raise 750 million euros to 1 billion euros from the sale. Kazimir also indicated that of the state increases its stake in Slovenske Elektrarne, not much will be cut from the revenue. „I expect the revenue from the sale of Slovak Telekom will be much higher than any other demands,“ he says.
