BRATISLAVA, December 27, (WEBNOVINY) — Citizens of Slovakia find their country safe, according to results of a current public opinion survey. Slovaks consider their country safer from the viewpoint of internal security (71 percent) than external security (66 percent). Only a small group of respondents finds Slovakia an unsafe country (4-5 percent). The survey further shows that 94.2 percent of the adult population agrees that it is good that the country has armed forces, which can take action when necessary. “Armed forces are here to make people in Slovakia feel safe and help when and where necessary and required,“ said Defense Minister Lubomir Galko with regard to results of the survey. The armed forces are considered the most trusted institution in Slovakia in the long-term. December survey shows that almost 80 percent of adult Slovaks trust the army.
The survey has been conducted by the polling agency Focus on a representative sample of
1,040 respondents between November 29 and December 10.
